Meet URI & HUR

The principle beneath it all.

This is not a company story. It is the account of what URI & HUR believes, what it is building, and why it intends to endure. Understand this, and the rest follows.

The Story Behind URI & HUR

URI & HUR takes its name from Scripture. Uri was the father of Bezalel, the first craftsman in all of Scripture explicitly filled with the Spirit of God for the purpose of creative work. Called by name. Filled by design. Given skill, intelligence, knowledge, and all craftsmanship for a specific sacred assignment.

URI & HUR carries that same calling into the realm of African fashion. The work is not random. The platform is not accidental. The standard is not arbitrary. It is rooted in the conviction that craft, when done with excellence and intention, is an act of worship.

/statement

“See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship.”

“See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship.”

— Exodus 31:2-3 ESV

The Oldest Way Forward

Long before the world called it sustainability, African craft was already regenerative. Cloth woven by hand. Color drawn from the earth. Nothing wasted, because nothing was made to be thrown away. Garments made to be kept, worn, and passed down.

URI & HUR carries that inheritance forward. What the industry now reaches toward, circularity, natural process, and craft that honors both the earth and the hands that shape it, has lived in African tradition for centuries. We do not treat it as a trend to adopt. We treat it as a truth to protect.

Strategy

(1)

Strong work begins before the first visual move. We define how the brand should be read, where it should stand, and what needs to remain clear as the system grows.

Design

(2)

We build visual languages with structure behind them. Identity, typography, layout, and interface are shaped to feel calm, precise, and immediately legible.

Creative Roster

URI & HUR works with a curated roster of photographers, cinematographers, stylists, hair artists, and makeup artists across the United States. The platform operates primarily out of Houston and New York City with productions that draw from creative talent nationwide. Being part of the URI & HUR creative roster means contributing to editorial and cultural work that is built to last. Some productions are collaborative. Others are compensated engagements as the platform grows and productions scale.

Development

(3)

Our build process is measured from the start. We create digital environments where performance, responsiveness, and interaction are resolved with the same level of care as the visual layer.

Campaigns

(4)

A campaign should do more than attract attention. It should sharpen recognition, carry the brand forward, and hold a clear visual line across content, launch moments, and paid media.
